 W
ho inspires you and why?

My father inspired me as a young child to always work hard. Providing for his family with multiple jobs he showed me what it takes to be successful.

Best piece of advice you have received?

Always do your best!

If you weren’t a hairdresser, what would you be and why?

I would be a NASCAR Driver!!! I love the sound of the cars, the thrill of it, the speed, and leaving with the rubber and dirt on my face makes it complete. Yes, I am NASCARS number one fan. I also had a chance to drive one all by myself with no one else in the car reaching speeds of 140. Amazing!

Which FIVE words best describe you?

  1.  Funny
  2. Friendly
  3. Energetic
  4. Bubbly
  5. Talkative

What are TWO things people don’t know about you?

My favorite color is purple and one of my favorite foods is pickle chips from Hooters!

What is your biggest accomplishment?

I would have to say a few things.  Having a wonderful husband,  4 children, and my own successful business.

What is your personal mantra?

Treat people how you want to be treated.

What is your greatest possession and why?
My husband and my 4 children. I have such a wonderful family. They mean everything to me. They are there when I wake up, when I get home from work, and I get to kiss them all goodnight. They stand by me thru thick and thin, support me in my line of work, and they put up with me LOL!

What is your favorite era for hair styles and why?
80’s because I love big hair, The Bigger the Better. Also, I love Pin up hair from the 50’s and 60’s. I do have to say, I do love the 30’s and 40’s finger waves. (Gosh, did I just say I like finger waves?)

Celeb you’d most like to makeover and why?

I would like to make over Jennifer Westhoven. She isn’t a celebrity, but a news anchor on HLN News. She has had the same style for many years. I think I could  simply enhance her beauty by giving her a bangin haircut and style. It’s unbelievable what a haircut can do for someone.

Where are you the happiest and why?

Home, because I love to hear what the next crazy thing that comes out of my children’s mouths are going to be.

What legacy do you want to leave behind?
I want people to remember me by all the wonderful things I have done. That there is more to life than thinking of one’s self. I want people to remember that I always did something for someone else. Always paying it forward.

This salon is a MIRACLE! I lived in "hair hell" for a while now (over processed, lifeless, long stringy hair) and took a chance with Amanda and never was so happy with a hair cut/style in my life!!! I got a very severe angled "bob" and it swings back in perfect layers no matter how I move my head around- i never had so much precision in a cut and style. The positive ENERGY in this classy salon exudes from all the stylists! The staff all came around me when Amanda "unveiled" my final results of my cut (I had over 6 inches taken off) to see my reaction, and it was so touching! I teared up. This event has cheered me up so much! Thank you so much to everyone at Twisted Scissors and obviously I HIGHLY recommend to everyone- including men.

Amanda, the owner of Twisted Scizzors is an amazing hair stylist. She is very creative and did a beautiful job transforming my hair from a frumpy blah cut to something far more stylish and easy to care for too. Amanda also is very easy to talk to and always makes me feel relaxed when I get my hair cut. I highly recommend the Twisted Scizzors salon and Amanda. You will love your experience!

I have been to several different hair stylists this past year since my regular hair stylist retired. I found Twisted Scizzors through their website and decided to give them a try and am very very glad I did. I think my search for a hair stylist is over. Amanda is an artist with hair. My hair if fine and thin and she knew how to pump up the volume and make me look like a million dollars. The cut I got was just what I wanted. She listened to my suggestion and knew exactly what to do to obtain the look I wanted. Not like other stylists that I have been to that just do what they think I needed instead of what I wanted. The Twisted Scizzors Salon is very nicely decorated and I felt very comfortable there. I will continue to go back for as long as they will have me. Thank you Amanda.

" My love of all things hair started when I was just 4 years old. My barbie dolls came with one length hair. I tried to figure out why I had bangs and my dolls didn't. I  made it my mission to give them all  bangs! As I got older I moved on to cutting and styling my cousins and friends  hair. I love being able to change looks and bring peoples inner beauty  out".
